Why Audit Your Phone Bill?

A telephone bill audit can occur at anytime but is often completed once a customer’s contract has expired. Contracts are typically 12-60 month terms with an auto renew clause. A phone bill audit analyzes a customer’s monthly communications expenditures (local and long distance phone service, internet services and conference calling) to determine overages, useless charges and alternative options to the current monthly bills. Oftentimes, people do not pay attention to every charge on their telephone bills, enabling service providers to charge fees for services that are not being used. This includes minimum commitments and fees for not meeting the minimum usage.

The overall goal of an audit is to save the customer money in the short and long term. This occurs by consolidating expenses and updating the technology so more efficient phone/internet service is being delivered. As a result of the audit, oftentimes a customer can expect to save between 10%-40% off their monthly communications expenditures; sometimes keeping the same service provider. These savings will enable the customer to purchase new equipment or improve existing services like increasing the number of phone lines, adding minutes to the long distance plan or increasing your internet speed.
