Avaya Partner: End of Sale for Select Components

Recently, Teltek received the following information from Avaya and wanted to pass it along to our blog readers.

With the general availability of IP office release 6.0 and the new IP Office Essential Edition – PARTNER ® Version software, Avaya is announcing the End of Sale of select PARTNER ® Advanced Communications System (ACS) components, effective May 10, 2010. Subject to availability, the latest purchase orders for these products may be placed is May 7, 2010.

The following components will no longer be orderable from Avaya:
• PAR TELSET 18D WH (Material Code: 700420029)
• PAR TELSET 6D WH (Material Code: 700419989)
• PAR ACS CONTACT CLOSURE (Material Code: 107881435)
• PAR ACS BKUP AND RESTORE CARD 12A1 (Material Code: 107932071)
• PAR T1 MOD (Material Code: 700241813)
• PAR 012E EXP MOD (Material Code: 108773896)
• PARTNER SMALL OFFICE EDITION (Material Code: 700374275)

So what are your options as a consumer? Avaya has suggested possible solutions to meet varying customer requirements while allowing for even the largest PARTNER® ACS customer to grow their business.

Option 1 – Migrate to IP Office Essential Edition – PARTNER® Version

Who would this be useful for?
New customers that require functionality such as T1/PRI or contact closure – this will allow for seamless migration from the PARTNER® ACS platform.

What kind of support would I receive?
Migrating to IP Office Essential Edition – PARTNER® Version will give customers access to a wealth of new applications, features and functionality (such as enhanced key and lamp operation, simplified administration, and support for PARTNER® ETR telephones) that will enhance productivity, customer service, and business efficiency.

Option 2 – Continue with PARTNER ® ACS R8

Who would this be useful for?
Customers who are happy with their current PARTNER® ACS systems and don’t want to change.

What kind of support would I receive?
Avaya is committed to providing product support for an additional three (3) years minimum after the End of Sale date and Avaya Global Services will continue with services support.
