The organizational committee for the 2014 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Sochi, Russia, announced in late November that Avaya will be providing the network equipment for the “common telecommunications infrastructure” that will link athletes, officials, visitors and fans from around the globe to this monumental worldwide sporting event.
In addition to equipment, Avaya will also send engineers to design and test the system after
implementation. You can see the entire article here.

My Mom and I have a disagreement when it comes to football. Neither of us watches much of the sport, but I have been a Ravens fan since I moved to Baltimore and she thinks my allegiance should be with the Pittsburgh Steelers, since I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. While I see her point, Baltimore is my city of residence now and I feel committed to cheer on my (new) home team. Even when their performance is less than, uh, stellar (I’m not specifically referring to last night’s game but…ouch).
I’m by no means a superfan, I don’t even watch every game, but I wear purple on Fridays, own a Ravens t-shirt and sweatshirt and I had a Ravens magnet on my truck until some lowlife snatched it. Team spirit is a wonderful thing and I love being part of it. It’s fun to walk down the hallway of our building to see other fans in their Ravens jerseys and rocking the purple.

Tolly Enterprises, an independent technology testing service, conducted a comprehensive study comparing the voice quality and features of Avaya B100 conference room phones to similar phones manufactured by Polycom.
Thirty-six office workers were asked to rate the phones on call clarity and available features while situated in a specially engineered office environment. The specific units evaluated were the Avaya B149, Avaya B159 and Avaya B179. The results of this study showed that the Avaya phones performed at a higher level than Polycom and offered additional features. Call recording is a very desirable feature on a conference phone and is only available on the Avaya models. The entire study is attached at a link below.

The season of spending is upon us! Those of us who plan ahead may be finished with Christmas shopping by now, but the rest of us (including me) have barely scratched the surface. Over the years, I’ve come up with a few strategies that have made holiday shopping a little more bearable for me.
Here’s what I have to offer:

Now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are behind us, I’m ready to start thinking about Christmas, the biggest holiday of the year.
Preparing for this day requires planning, organization and meeting certain deadlines. Cards need to be written out and addressed so they can be mailed by a certain date…ideally, prior to Christmas Day! Gifts must be purchased and wrapped before they can be bestowed on friends and family and cookies should be baked as early as possible so you can enjoy them for the next few weeks

One of the best services Teltek has to offer is our Maintenance Contract. Maintenance is considered by us to be the proactive servicing of your equipment in an effort to prevent problems that could arise and make sure the software is current so your system is operating at maximum efficiency.
Maintenance agreements are available in terms of one to five years and payments are billed monthly or quarterly. Having an agreement with us also entitles the holder to faster response times and reduced travel and service fees. As part of the contract, a bank of hours is purchased and the time spent on proactive visits and service calls (both remote and on site) are deducted from this bank of time allotted.

Recently, Teltek received the designation of Small to Mid-Sized Enterprise (SME) Expert by Avaya and was awarded the SME Expert Badge for Avaya Connect. The SME Expert specialization recognizes elite Avaya-authorized partners who have demonstrated proficiency and expertise in sales and servicing the Avaya IP Office Phone System. Teltek was asked to participate in this program by the Avaya channel after being recognized for accolades in marketing and business growth as well as for having multiple sales and technician professionals on staff who have achieved specialized knowledge and service credentials.
