Service is a top priority at Teltek and since this is an aspect of the business I am closely connected to as interim Service Coordinator, I thought you might be interested in learning the inner workings of Teltek’s Service Department.
Most importantly, you need to know that troubleshooting and repair is one of our great strengths and each call that comes in is addressed as quickly as possible. We understand the need to have reliable communication and we are always here to get you back on line!

It seems everyone had Mega Million Fever last week despite the tremendous odds stacked against winning it. Mike Catalano, chairman of the mathematics department at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D., was quoted as saying “You are about 50 times as likely to get struck by lightning as to win the lottery, based on the 90 people a year getting struck by lightning,”
While the big drawing has come and gone, the 640 Million Mega Bucks at stake was an amount of epic proportions and I thought it would be fun to ask my fellow Teltekians what they would do with the money if they won the big jackpot. Their answers will give you an idea of what kind of people we are here at Teltek and what we value in life.

A frequent call we get to our service deparment is one in which a customer describes a problem where they hear a fast busy when they pick up the receiver and can’t get dial tone or make an outgoing call and all incoming calls go straight to voice mail.
The first thing we ask the customer to do is check to see if Do Not Disturb (DND) is activated of if they have directed their calls to be forwarded elsewhere. If you have either of these features on your phone and you accidentally activate one of them or forget to turn it off, you will not be able to make outgoing calls and no one will get through to you. That’s Do Not Disturb doing it’s job

Telecommuting, or working from a location other than a standard office environment is becoming a very popular solution to implement by companies wishing to save money on expenses such as leasing office space, parking, utilities etc. The use of telecommuting is on the rise and more companies are trusting their employees to be as productive in their own home offices as they would be in the workplace.
Wrike, Inc. a provider of social project management software, conducted a teleworking survey and received 1,074 responses to a variety of questions about working from home. The results were surprising; 83% of the respondents said they work remotely at least part of the day, showing that telecommuting is far more widespread than anticipated.

As someone who is fairly new to marketing, I’m always open to learning about and applying creative marketing strategies. A few months ago I listened to a set of CDs of the book “Groundwell: Winning in a World transformed by Social Technologies” by Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff. The term “groundswell” refers to the power of social media and how online users can utilize it to influence everything from fashion to politics and achieve objectives by helping each other.
A good example of this is online product reviews. Let’s say you want to try out the trendy new Mexican restaurant downtown. Instead of going to the restaurant’s web site to peruse the menu and make a reservation, your first stop is Yelp or Urbanspoon, to find reviews of diners who have been there already. After reading a few negative reviews in which the words “food poisoning” and “shockingly awful” appear, you decide to go somewhere else for dinner. That is the groundswell hard at work!
