Some Avaya IP Office users may experience a low level of whistling or whining noises into the analog voice band spectrum. The issue is inconsistent and may be affected by temperature.
It has been determined that a small number of IP Office IP500 V2 control units may exhibit this issue when connected to an analog trunk via the analog trunk module, ATM (700417405) or the ATM combo card (700476013). This does not apply if the system uses T1PRI/E1 or SIP trunks.
If you are experiencing this noise, here is the corrective action recommended by Avaya: if the combo card is installed, replace it. If the ATM4 card is installed, check if it can be replaced by the combo card. If not, replace the IP500v2 unit.
The new ATM4U V2 (700503164) and the Combination Card ATM V2 (700504556) are only supported in the IP Office 500 V2 with Avaya IP Office Release 8.1 FP1. The new ATM4U V2 trunk card is designed to deliver enhancements to the function and operation of the analog trunk card.
