Hundreds of thousands of visitors enjoyed the weeklong Sailabration hosted by the City of Baltimore from June 13-19. It is estimated that approximately 4,000 military men and women were present during the event. More than 16,500 people were present at Fort McHenry on Saturday, which is a new one-day attendance record for the national park. Near perfect weather contributed to the wide variety of attractions including tall ships and the Navy’s Blue Angel Flight Demonstration Team.

I attended Sailabration on Saturday, June 16th and was able to witness the ships in the harbor and the Blue Angels’ performance. While most of the events were centered around Fort McHenry, visitors to the harbor and other areas of Baltimore were able to enjoy the events as well via large monitors that broadcast the events live from the Fort.
