Girl On Wire – What Is Your Dogma?

Jan 28, 2013

Dictionary.com defines dogma as an official system of principles or tenets concerning faith, morals, behavior, etc. It’s important to have principles and stand behind them. As a dog owner, I like to focus on the dog in dogma, because we can actually learn a lot from dogs. These are not always positive lessons; the expression “dog eat dog” is not one I will be promoting, at least not in today’s blog.

The principle I would like to encourage today as that of leading through education and support.

If you have read this weekly column before, you will realize that I have a weakness for heart warming animal videos.  A previous GOW blog featured the one about the bear cubs who had to be rescued from a dumpster. There is a new video making the rounds about a very helpful canine showing a puppy how to go down a flight of stairs.

Apparently, these two pooches live in the same house and the puppy (Daisy) got stuck at the top of a staircase since she could not figure out how to descend. The older dog (Simon), at the urging of his owner, embarks (ha ha) on a mission to help Daisy out through a series of actions.

The first is to show Daisy how to use stairs by repeatedly going up and down the staircase with Daisy watching. Next, he joins her at the top of the stairs and attempts to descend the stairs alongside the puppy. Finally, Daisy decides to go for it and awkwardly maneuvers her way down. Simon is waiting near the bottom where he grabs the wee one by the scruff of the neck and assists her down the last two steps.

If you have not seen this yet, here’s a link to it on YouTube:

It’s a really precious video with a great message. We learn best by example, practice, patience and support. If you are not getting patience and support from your vendors, you need to find some new vendors.

At Teltek, we help our customers with their technology by advising them on the technology tools that will help their business succeed, implementing the best equipment to suit their needs, training them on that equipment and quickly responding to calls when they contact us for assistance.

Whether it’s advising you on a new phone system, providing help desk support or guiding you down a scary staircase, Teltek  will be there for you every step of the way!
