Girl On Wire – Super Bowl Unplugged

Feb 4, 2013

It’s not every day that your home team is in the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event of the year! Living in Baltimore City is an awesome experience and watching how this city rallies around our team is a sight to behold!

Every Purple Friday of the football season was widely recognized in Baltimore with the wearing of team jerseys and flags and banners hung everywhere just added to the excitement.

Winning the big game is an even more amazing feeling. What a night! Our Ravens battled valiantly and got their hard-earned reward. Despite a skilled opponent and a 30 minute power outage, our home team came out ahead for a 34-31 victory! We also set a record for the longest Super Bowl game ever; 4 hours and 14 minutes. It was a memorable evening all around.

If you don’t live in Baltimore and wonder what it was like shortly after our home team won, here’s a basic overview; cheering, hugging, screaming, dancing, car horns honking, fireworks and high-five’s. On my way home from a party, a crazy fan jumped in front of my car on Broadway and refused to get out of my path until I honked my horn. I was happy to comply. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

I hope everyone had a great Super Sunday, whether you were out and about or watching from your own living room, it’s always fun to gather together to check out the best advertising TV has to offer all year and maybe watch some football. Oh and Beyonce‘s halftime show? Fabulous!!! She literally set the stage on fire, you Go Girl!

Competition inspires all of us to bring our A-Game to every situation. You may not emerge the victor every time, but if you give it your best shot, you’ve done your part. I have never been prouder to be a Baltimore City resident, the Ravens Rule!!! Cheers to Baltimore’s Best 🙂
