NEC SL1100 Phone System
NEC Corporation of America is preparing to release version 3.5 of the software that supports the SL1100 phone system. Before that happens, they need a few existing and new SL1100 customers to volunteer for the beta trials.

Highlights of this new release include:
Increased System Size
SL1100 R3.5 will now support a 3rd Expansion Chassis.
- Combined maximum of (112) Stations ports
- Maximum of (96) Digital Stations ports
- Maximum of (80) Analog Station ports
- Maximum of (64) IP Station ports
- Maximum of (48) Analog Trunks
- Increased InMail mailbox capacity – now up to (128) mailboxes
- Increased SL Net Trunk / Station port capacity – now up to (256) total ports.
NAT improvements for iSIP
With version 3.5 or higher, the NAPT feature is enhanced. Previously when the DR700 connects to the system via NAPT, the intermediate router/firewall could close the port due to inactivity for a period of time. The solution for this was to lower the Registration and Subscribe expiry timers. However, these timers were system wide and would affect all terminals (not just NAPT terminals), causing an increased network and CPU load. To correct for this issue, V3.5 or higher added these timers on a per station basis. This way the NAPT terminals can lower the timers and not affect all of the NON NAPT terminals. No new license is required for this feature; all existing licenses are still required.
IP Call Logging Unit
The IP Call Logging Unit allows recording of SL1100 IP terminals and SIP trunks. One IP terminal or SIP trunk can be recorded, but with additional licenses, one IP Call Logging Unit can record up to (8) IP terminals or SIP trunks. Additional IP Call Logging Units can be added. The IP Call Logging units will be offered at a discounted price for beta candidates.
IP / Digital Manager
The IP / Digital Call Logging Manager License allows users to have access to the recordings of multiple IP or Digital Call Logging Units, from anywhere on the customer’s network. Recording can be converted to a wav file format and emailed to other users, where playback can be done with Windows Media player software on their PC’s.
uMobility Client
This solution provides a user with a standard SIP software phone for the iPhone®, Android phone, or Blackberry® phone OS-7, and is enabled over the customer’s WiFi connection. This requires an SL1100 SIP Terminal License and an application from the appropriate online store.
