We are proud to announce that Teltek has been awarded Maryland’s Small Business Reserve (SBR)Certification.  This certification, part of the The Small Business Reserve Program, will enable us, as a certified small businesses, the capability to bid exclusively on specified State of Maryland contracts. “By increasing the accessibility to state-awarded contracts through the Small Business Reserve Certification, we hope to increase our local presence while continuing to provide exceptional technical expertise and customer care,” says Debra Nicoli, President and CEO of Teltek.

“Teltek provides a unique one-call technology consulting and support service called Total Care Assurance to businesses and government organizations known in and around the Mid-Atlantic region. Services include IT consulting, phone systems, network configuration, voice & data cabling, computer repair, cloud services, disaster recovery and brokerage of bandwidth, voice and cloud services.”

Since its inception in 2004, the SBR “has been providing small businesses with the opportunity to participate as prime contractors on State contracts and procurements by establishing a unique marketplace where small businesses compete against other small businesses instead of larger, more established companies.”  The Program applies to 23 designated State agencies who are required to spend at least 10% of their total fiscal year procurement expenditures with qualified small businesses.

Both the Department of General Services (DGS) and GOMA are tasked with ensuring the success of the Program. “DGS is responsible for managing the business registration and certification process; maintaining the directory of certified small businesses; and auditing firms to ensure that only qualified small businesses are on the certified list. GOMA is responsible for program compliance in the areas of training and technical assistance necessary for agencies to successfully implement the program; monitoring of agencies’ procurement activity to ensure that the program is utilized to the fullest extent possible and that all SBR reporting requirements are met.”
