OK, so get this…your iPhone tracks your whereabouts and records everywhere that you have been between a certain amount of time. It even gives you detailed records as to how long you were at a specific location and how many times you have visited that location! It even tracks when you are home, while keeping a record of your home address. Creepy, right? When I found this out, I looked just like this monkey.
Fortunately, there is a way to turn this feature “off” and I am going to show you how to do it.
Locations History
First, if you are curious to find out what locations history is recorded in your phone, follow the following steps:
- Go to your Settings and click on “Privacy”
- Click on “Location Services”
- Scroll down and click on “System Services”
- Scroll down and click on “Frequent Locations”
Now you can click on any one of those locations that are listed in your “History” and get more details. Crazy!
If you want to turn this feature off, here is how you do it:
- To erase your location history, simply press “Clear History” under “History” in the “Frequent Locations” window.
- Then, if you want to turn this feature off, turn “Frequent Locations” off, so that the green slide bar is no longer green, as pictured below:
And that’s it! The locations history is turned off. Now if your phone is lost or stolen, a bad guy won’t show up at your house.
