On November 17th, Teltek attended an event hosted by the Department of Transportation’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. The purpose of the event was to connect small businesses with opportunities on the local, state and federal level and educate those businesses on the resources available to them.
The conference opened with remarks from the DOT OSDBU Director, Brandon Neal, the DOT Secretary, Ray LaHood, NY Congresswoman Yvette Clarke (who sits on the House Small Business Committee) and George Pierson, President and CEO of Parsons Brinkerhoff.
After that, there were breakout educational sessions on Growing your Small Business and Accessing Capital for Your Small Business. The conference ended with a trade show and general networking.
As a small, woman-owned business, Teltek strives to partner with other small, minority/woman owned businesses to reach the common goal of delivering the highest level of service to existing customers as well as making our services available to government agencies we have not done business with in the past.
