What are your Black Friday plans? Shopping? Schmoozing? Trap Shooting?

Nov 22, 2011

The Friday after Thanksgiving is typically referred to as Black Friday, or the day retailers can get back in the black with sales, but it is not a day of shopping for everyone.

For my family, the day after Thanksgiving is for catching up with long-distance relatives. Some of my aunts, uncles and cousins have relocated to the far corners of the country and the holiday brings them all back to one place for a brief time of holiday cheer.

On the day following our traditional family meal, many of us will meet at the hunting club my Dad belongs to for trap shooting. It’s a hobby we are passionate about and enjoy very much. I try to be present every year, but I’m hesitant to go if it’s raining or very cold. I’m what my Dad calls a “fair weather shooter” or “pansy”.

Over drinks later that day, we will relive our few hours of target practice by telling anyone who wasn’t there who hit the most, who missed and who should no longer be allowed to own a firearm 🙂

How do you typically spend Black Friday? Drop a comment below and give us all some ideas!
