Mitel Networks Corp. said implementation delays and orders that were booked but not shipped have adversly affected their sales projections for the first quarter. Instead of the $150 million -$155 million initially expected, the revised figures came in between $138 million and $139 million.
As a result of this drop, the Canada-based producer of business communication and phone systems will need to lay off approximately 200 employees and close excess facilities. The workforce reduction is expected to be complete by the end of October.
