The MR18 and MR26 are Cisco’s newest additions to the Meraki family. The MR18 is an industry first three-radio, cloud managed 2×2 MIMO 802.11n access point while the MR26 boasts 3×3 MIMO. (MIMO stands for Multiple Input, Multiple Output and means that “multiple Wi-Fi signals are being sent and received at once, hopefully making your Wi-Fi communication faster”)
While these new AP’s have all of the same features you’ve seen with their predecessors, the MR16 and MR24, the added 3rd radio in the MR26 will allow for an active Wireless Intrusion Protection (WIP) with Cisco’s Air Marshall Mode. Additionally the 3rd radio can be used for RF optimization and Spectrum Analysis.
