Stop using Microsoft Internet Explorer IMMEDIATELY! Security Flaw: Heartbleed puts you at risk!
Earlier in the month, we talked about the exploit that is putting your data at risk and recommended that you update your passwords in my post Heartbleed: Protect your personal and business accounts online! However, the situation has escalated this week.
After a security flaw was uncovered in Internet Explorer, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is urging internet users to “consider employing an alternative web browser.”
Everyone using Microsoft Internet Explorer is at risk. However, computers that are running an older OS, like Windows XP are even more susceptible to the flaw because Microsoft stopped offering security patches at the beginning of April. We recommend that our customers us Firefox or Google Chrome for their internet browsing until Microsoft is able to fix the problem and deploy a patch which could be until mid-May.
