Here are 5 time saving tips to help you in using Microsoft Office Word 2013:
- Read More Easily – Microsoft Office Word 2013 includes a new READ MODE option that allows you to choose a view based on what you’re trying to do – read or edit. Edit is the traditional view we’re all used to but read allows easy browsing of your document regardless of what device you’re using – PC, laptop or tablet. Simply go to the VIEW Tab and select “Read Mode.”
- Define Words – When editing our own documents OR maybe just reading a document from that one co-worker that always has to complicate things (you know the one) you can easily highlight a word, right click and select “Define” rather than opening a browser and googling it. Same thing goes for Synonyms – highlight, right click and select substitute – I mean “Synonym” of course but that was one of my many options.
- Rearrange Lists – The old Letterman team would have loved this! If you’re working on a bullet point or numbered list and want to rearrange the contents no need to cut and paste any longer. Simply use Alt+Shift then the up or down arrow to reorganize your thoughts.
- Insert Pictures – Rather than having to hunt for a picture on your Flickr or Facebook account, saving it to your desktop and then inserting it into your document, do it directly. Once you’ve connected your accounts (INSERT tab à Online Pictures options) you can drop these in directly to your doc.
- Pin Locations – I’m not talking about Pinterest, but rather saving your most frequently visited folder and documents to your open screen. The default is to prioritize “Recent Documents” however a simple click on the pushpin on the right hand side will have that document easily accessible for you every time you open the program.
