Girl On Wire – Mega Ideas For A Mega Win

Apr 2, 2012

It seems everyone had Mega Million Fever last week despite the tremendous odds stacked against winning it. Mike Catalano, chairman of the mathematics department at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D., was quoted as saying “You are about 50 times as likely to get struck by lightning as to win the lottery, based on the 90 people a year getting struck by lightning,”

While the big drawing has come and gone, the 640 Million Mega Bucks at stake was an amount of epic proportions and I thought it would be fun to ask my fellow Teltekians what they would do with the money if they won the big jackpot. Their answers will give you an idea of what kind of people we are here at Teltek and what we value in life.

Debi, our President, would buy a house on a beach somewhere, travel and award all Teltek employees a large bonus (thanks Debi!).

Chris, Teltek’s Vice President, would use the money for traveling, kayaking and grant several people some very nice gifts and then start a foundation or a nonprofit.

Bob, Teltek’s Founder and Senior Telecom Technician would stop working on weekends.

Mark, our IP Office Tech would buy a small technology company and supply it with everything needed to grow it and act as their consultant. He would also travel and “invest heavily” in helping children with Autism.

Christy, Teltek’s Project Manager would help her family, go on lots of vacations to explore the world, provide to charity and put some away for a rainy day.

John, our Sales Manager, would help his family members and then buy a farm to house abused animals, donate to Cancer, Heart and Children’s charities, continue to work and take a nice long vacation.

Mary, our Bookkeeper Assistant would give her children and niece and nephew each a million and then she would travel. She would stay in each place at least 6 months to get to know the people.

Girl On Wire would give to her family and friends, set up some college funds, travel the globe, build as many animal shelters as possible and fund agressive programs to find good homes for all the critters.

How would YOU spend a wad of cash like that? Let us know!
