Over the weekend I watched Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol on dvd. It’s the fourth installment in a series of action movies starring Tom Cruise and inspired by the 60s TV Show by the same name. These movies feature a crack team of highly skilled covert operatives who know how to kick butt, speak foreign languages and deploy very cool hi-tech gadgets to save the day. They have exciting adventures all around the world, are masters of disguise and there’s always car chases, explosions and outrageous stunts.
Tom plays the role of Ethan Hunt, the leader of this team and in Ghost Protocol, the team is disavowed after being framed for a terrorist attack on the Kremlin. Ethan and his band of merry spies must prove the innocence of the secret agency and thwart an evil plot to start a nuclear war and their intense journey takes them to Moscow and Dubai.
It’s a great flick that I highly recommend if you’re into action/espionage movies. A few Wikipedia facts about this 2011 film: it grossed over $693 million worldwide, becoming the highest grossing Mission: Impossible installment and the highest grossing film starring Tom Cruise.
