What’s new with Avaya’s IP Office 9.0?

Nov 4, 2013

Avaya  has just made their latest version of IP Office, 9.0, generally available.  The new 9.0 will allow support of up to 2,000 users in a single platform, adds support for VMware to ease in the flexibility of deployment and delivers access to the largest range of endpoints to enable anywhere working.

The new release was developed from the ground up to enable midmarket companies to streamline the way they collaborate and communicate.  9.0 is part of the $2.5B investment Avaya  has made since 2007 to lead the transformation into a software and services led company from its roots focused solely in telecom.  The company’s focusing their efforts in “delivering collaboration and communications solutions that are open, mobile and centered on the cloud.”

Avaya  IP Office 9.0 offers:

  • Simplified, Increased Scale – Doubling scale, now up to 2,000 users at 32 locations can be supported, increasing value and offering low total cost of ownership.
  • Virtualization – Match your deployment method to your infrastructure plans and objectives.  Increased flexibility adds virtualized software running VMware vSphere 4.x or 5.x software allowing IP Office 9.0 to run inside a virtual machine, on a dedicated server, an appliance, or a combination there of.
  • Simplified Management – IP Office Web Manager for Server Edition consolidates management of multiple sites with a onetime log-in to a single URL.
  • Support for the Enterprise Branch – Cost effective support of multiple branch office deployment options (standalone, independent branch or connected.)
