Recently, at the Enterprise Connect Conference, NEC’s unified communications solution outshone the competition and achieved the lowest five-year Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) ranking at a session focusing on Communications Platform-Premise VS. Cloud-Based IP Telephony.
NEC’s and each of its competitor’s functions (high availability, core voice utility, voice mail, unified messaging, unified communications, and system administration, etc.) were assessed and scored on a weighted scale along with TCO over 5 years. While this session is conducted annually, this is the first year that that both on-premises and cloud solutions were combined and a panel discussions were included covering integration issues, deployment issues, and how vendors decide what to propose (cloud vs. premises).
